Finally. After cloes to a year of anticipation

tommorow. the movies to end all movies shall be released. it shall own everything.
i have been obsessing aobut it for the past week, not to mention the past year.

Rambo.

im off the wall exited for this. the reviews were awful, but i expecting nothing more. fuck the reviewers. they went into the film looking for good writing and a plot. idiots. its rambo. look for flying organs and exagerated masculinity.

this will fucking own. every time i watch the trailer i get shivers down my spine.
the action movie of the decade it here tommorow.
i think you get the idea. im pretty exited.
whos going?

I will most likely see this over the next few weeks when I have the money and time.

To be honest, the advertising campaign on this one killed it for me. I was really excited when I first heard about it, and then I saw the "let the bodies hit the floor", "live for nothing, or die for something" trailer and lost most of my interest.

I may see it, but it's lower on my list than it should have been.

I can't wait to see it. I don't really care if there is a plot or not, I just want to see the old man murdalize some guys.

I've really no interest in this movie at all. I just don't like Stallone I guess.

Posher778 01-25-2008 01:24 PM

I think Stallone is way washed up.

Thought he seemed pretty funny in the "spy kids" trailer.

Of course i've never seen the actual movie, so i really could't say if he's hilarious all the time. But he looked like the only reason to see it.

P.S. If i HAD seen Spy Kids i would never tell.

I found Rambo short, to the point, and VERY bloody. There's some building of the story (please don't confuse this with character development) and a lot of cliche dialogue but then you hit the action and it doesn't stop until the end. I haven't seen an action/war movie that good in a while and apart from the aforementioned cliche war movie speeches and a few questionable direction choices by Sly there wasn't much to dislike about Rambo... unless you were expecting Stallone to act. The headshots, the bodies splitting apart, the well executed "camp infiltration" all left me pretty satisfied. Better than 2 & 3 but it doesn't quite make it up to First Blood.

Nailed my view exactly, Des. I thought it was a great throwback to the mindless action flicks of the 80s. Dont go expecting a buildup of a plot or characters...Stallone just shows why Rambo is the king of action.

I give it a solid 08/10, for violent entertainment from start to finish.

*VERY MINOR SPOILERS*

I was surprised there was as much suspense as there was before they broke into the camp weren't you? I was also worried when Rambo started "working with" the mercs. I thought maybe it would lose the whole "one man army" aspect that you mentioned in your other thread. I was wrong though, Rambo still kicked ten times as much ass as anybody else. Oh, and I did like Schoolboy. I think I'm going to play some COD4 now.
