Re:The Mist. they don't pay these reviewers? Do they?

SPOILER ALERT

I enjoy a well written movie review from people who know the history of film and the genre they are writing about. It's also frustrating when a reviewer or any journalist is ignorant of simple facts and use words incorrectly.

I dont' expect that from an amateur but if one is getting paid then it is a sad state.

Stacey Lynne Wilson's review of The Mist really lost me at the end when she called it
[B]one of the most definitive, unforgettable climaxes in horror movie history.[/B
]

I guess contributing to horror.com has not allowed her to view many horrror movies.

I would be interested in how many people who enjoy the genre did not see this ending coming. The twist ending. Where the hero does something or think he has achieved his goal and then circumstances immediatly change and all is lost has been around for a long time. If anyone has seen any twilight zone episodes can tell you and it has been around longer than that.

The reason The Mist left a bad taste in my throat was because the ending was so predictable. As soon as the gun was reintroduced I guessed what would happen and was sadly correct.

I would also hope a paid reviewer would know that the movie was based on a Stephen King novella not a short story. That's a little picky except it states that fact in big letters in the credits.

A small but obvious error makes one distrust the writer. In this case no one gets hurt. But unfortunately even the New York Times employs writers who do this.

That's it

I thought The Mist rocked, honestly. Best King adaptation ever.
