Welcome and stick around - this is a great place to learn about horror.
King's Danse Macabre is pretty good http://books.google.com/books?id=7B7...=Danse+Macabre as is Adam Rockoff's Going to Pieces:The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film http://books.google.com/books?id=W7-...print&ct=title This one looks promising as well, I've been meaning to pick it up, but I've bought too many books as of late. http://books.google.com/books?id=kwu...ape+of+Rage%22 |
-Nightmares in Red, White and Blue: The Evolution of the American Horror Film(Joseph Maddrey)
-American Horrors: Essays on the Modern American Horror Film(Gregory A. Waller) |
Projected Fears by Kendall Phillips is good.

there's some here
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_...&Go.x=9&Go.y=9 Although this is the british version, I'm sure the American one will do it as well |
Clive Barker's A-Z of Horror if you actually need a book about horror films.
If you just need books with Horror themes, then check out The Rising or The Zombie Survival Guide. |
david j. skal's "the monster show" isn't bad either.
