The Hills Have Eyes

All I can say is wow, everything about this movie is strange including my review of it. I just picked the movie up a couple days ago after hearing about it on this site. I was a little nervous buying a movie that was $30 that I'd never seen before but I couldn't find it anywhere else. I have to say the movie did start off a little slow and I quickly starting to think I made a bad choice but after things started to pick up I was just glued to the tv, it really left me wondering what was going to happen next. At the end of the movie I just stared at the tv for a moment and was trying to figure out what the hell I just watched. My first thought was that it wasn't nearly as good as people said it was but decent. After awhile of thinking about it though I realized I was wrong. The movie isn't just decent, it's defintely one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. If Wes Craven still made some movies like this I would be a very happy man. It's took me some time to realize some aspects of what the movie was trying to say and the parallel families but once I did it made the movie even better, can't wait to watch it again.

~~~ The DVD was worth $30 too, it's got a ton of extras
Classic film. One of Craven's best. I didn't pay nearly that much for it though.
Don't buy part 2. It might be worth renting just for completist's sake, but the movie is pretty bad. It's also padded with a lot of footage from the first one.
Yes, the flashbacks get tedious. The damn dog even has flashbacks. LOL.
I forgot about the dog's flashbaks. Man, that's priceless. He was still pissed that the freaks killed his mate.
How about a remake of The Hills Have Eyes, I know everyone on here seems to hate the idea of remaking classic movies but I think this one might be interesting. It might bring back the old school horror movie if it was popular enough.
There is a rumor buzzing about a remake of this.
If you enjoyed Last House on the Left then you should definetly buy Hills Have Eyes. It is sort of the same concept of movie just the better one in my opinion.
This is a great movie, and actually pretty deep. It shows two different sides of civilization, and by the end one is reduced to the equivalent of the other. Great introspection of American culture.
