Interesting Horror Trivia Facts

I just found out something that I did not know...

Apparently, Night Of The Living Dead was "heavily influenced" by Carnival Of Souls...

I found that to be very interesting

Have you guys got any obscure trivia facts to share that we may not be aware of?

Here's one that I've known forever (and most people probably do) but just in case you didn't know:

Stephen King threw away the unfinished manuscript for Carrie because he didn't think anyone would like it...His wife (Tabitha) found it in the garbage, took it out, read it, told him she loved it, encouraged him to finish it and submit it...It became the book that launched his career

Birds, The (1963)

The End of the Film

The end of the film, as it stands now, is by no means happy, but still far less apocalyptic than originally intended. The movie was originally screened with an extra scene of the family making it all the way to San Fransisco, where they crest a hill and come down upon the Golden Gate Bridge...covered in birds.

Hitchcock was forced to cut this ending, as the studios feared it would be too
depressing.

The Shining

Stanley Kubrick had to change the 'scary woman in the tub' room number to 237 (instead of 217, as stated in the book) because the hotel manager where the movie was filmed, didn't want guests freaking out over the real room 217...There wasn't a room 237 at that hotel, so they went with that.

Stephen King's movie 'Maximum Overdrive' was threatened with an X-rating because of the steamroller/kid scene...He had to change it to get an R...He was pissed

Oh, blatantly. NOTLD actually lost a little of its magnificance for me when I later saw Carnival of Souls for the first time.
