Dead Newt Found In Bag Of Salad...From The Same Company That Bagged The Live Toad
Mother Finds Dead Newt In Salad
A mother was left in shock after finding a dead newt in her Sainsbury's salad. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...Rayne/newt.jpg Susan Williams, 37, feeding her baby and didn't spot the newt as she put it into her mouth. She said: "It was absolutely horrible. I'll never forget biting into that newt as long as I live." She bought the Sainsbury's bistro salad from a store in nearby Letchworth, in Hertfordshire. "I had a bit of it when I got home and then put the rest in the fridge. "The next day I got the rest of the salad out to eat it and as it was washed and ready to eat when I bought it I didn't need to prepare it," said Susan. "Because I was concentrating on feeding my baby I wasn't paying too much attention to the salad. "I took a mouthful and there was an awful crunch and I spat it out. "I looked down and saw that it was a dead newt. "It was awful. "I couldn't believe what I'd just been eating. It was revolting." Shocked Susan took the newt to her local vet where they confirmed her worst fears. "The newt was about 9cm long from head to tail. "I also called the local council's environmental health department," she said. "I also contacted Sainsbury's and have sent them the newt for investigation." A Sainsbury's spokesman said the salad with the toad and the salad with the newt were from two different suppliers in different countries. The spokesman said: "It is really important to us to make sure everything we sell is safe, and we set the highest standards to ensure that this is the case. "We take rare incidents such as this very seriously indeed and an analysis is currently being conducted by a specialist laboratory and we will respond to the customer as soon as we have their results. "We have also notified the supplier and put additional checks into the process to ensure this doesn't happen again." Here's the previous 'Toad' story: http://horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29884 |

The toad was a very rare occurance, yet just one day later someone else found a newt? No matter how much she claims she 'wasn't paying attention'...How can someone possibly NOT see a colorful, spotted animal, over 4 inches long, in their salad?...It would be much heavier than the lettuce and everything else, so it would make an audible sound as it fell into her bowl...I'm just saying, there's NO way Quote:
I think she was trying to find witnesses to corroborate her story I'll be checking for further details on this story...I won't be surprised if she gets busted...I think it will turn out to be something like 'The newt was not indigenous to the area from which the salad was packed and shipped' |

Hmm...According to THIS report of her story:
http://www.herts24.co.uk/content/com...A24%3A52%3A590 She DID read the Toad story Quote:
I hope they bust her ass GOOD |
Evidently she has done it for publicity and to get some $$s out of it. The whole "vet" angle just doesnt make sense. I hope someone from Sainsbury uncovers it all and blanks her ass for good.

her story is too polished to be believed..
too many things covered.. she even looks like a liar. |
