The Feast Thread

This thread is just for discussing Feast, since... I watch it all the time now.

What did you like about it? Dislike? Who were your favorite characters? Kills? Etc.

I loved the intros, and the fact that it was totally into the story in 5 seconds, completely out of nowhere. I like the characters (except that stupid guy that got barfed on), and I love the gore. What I REALLY don't like, is how the creatures look. I dunno, but I think it's boring.

******SPOILER**********

My favorite part is when all the commotion happens and bozo accidentally shoots the mom out the window, where they rush in and take her away. It was totally out of nowhere, took me by surprise, especially since most everyone thought she'd make it.

*****************END***

My favorite character was grandma for some reason, she was just entertaining. I really like the heroine #2 mom though. Great flick, veryyy fast paced.

Yeah, it was pretty good. I liked how the creatures looked. It was funny when they fucked.

The most cheesy and fun-filled time I ever had while watching a movie. It was so horrible I loved it.

There are actually 3 parts of the movie that scare me a little. Not like *scare* OMG! or something, but make me uneasy. The movie is too silly for a lot of this, but the part where the car crashes and the thought of being standing in pitch black night with nothing but the loud droning sound of a car horn unnerves me. Like, "how much time do I have before they find me?" and "Did i drive fast enough that I can make it to that bar before they get me?" And the other part was when the girl pops out of the barrel to start the truck, and you don't see anything but her. If that was me, i'd be freaking out and dashing back through the window in a heartbeat. The other thing was ***Spoiler*** When the lady got shot out the window, and they ran out of nowhere and grabbed her... I dunno why, just kinda freaked me. Animal brutality can be disgusting...:)

Well Feast was special for me because I watched the entire Project Greenlight season that featured Feast and it was fun to see it in action.

To be honest I was definitly pleasantly surprised when I actually watched it. After watching it get made in Project Greenlight I didn't exactly have the biggest expections and bought it mostly out of curiousity of how the finished project looked. But Feast just had a really good mix of comedy and horror that most new comedy/horror films lacked. It was unsettling but still made you giggle and at teams get a little shocked. The comedy was more potent as I thought and it gave the movie a different feel then most newer horror flicks. The way the told the story (ie the "character bios" ) added quite a bit to the comedy part of the film and was pretty original. The horror came through pretty well at some times as well. The Direction and alll of the effects were well done and the monsters although not the scariest movie monsters were well made, convincing, and creepy. I loved the whole "exo-skeleton" idea too. There were also quite a bit of surprised that took me off guard that I definitly applaud. I love any good movie surprise that I didn't see coming at all. (sometimes they are way to obvious).

As for some cons I thought the movie had a tendency to get too silly sometimes. I mean I know its a horror/comedy but sometimes it crossed the barrier into the "Groan Zone" (just made that neat little phrase up thank you). The overt sillyness sometimes took away too much from the horror which isn't good but overall it kept the balance alright. Other then that the acting was a bit lacking but I can forgive I mean I've seen worse.

So in fewer words Feast was a pleasent surprise and a good horror/comedy with a good amount of both genres and featured an original, interesting, and often funny, manner of story-telling.

i also watched the whole entire season of project greenlight and i was really satisfied about how the movie was. it was great fun and exactly what i wanted it to be. it pisses me of though that barely anyone watch that season of project greenlight. cause now they won't have anymore seasons or project greenlight films. makes me sad.
