scream v halloween

this poll stems from a debate that originated in the suspiria thread

I don't think this poll will be very close.

Obviously Halloween is the better if the two. Although Scream comes in very close. I really enjoyed Scream and it is by far one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Scream is one of those movies where I can watch all day and never get sick of it. Halloween gets very old after awhile.

Scream comes in very close? In what way? If Scream can stand the test of time like Halloween has, then maybe. Right now Scream, though a decent movie for what it is, is just nothing more than a horror parody that does a good job on its own as a slasher pic.

I am not really a fan of the scream films, at all. But then again, I don't think the scream films were trying to be anything more than entertaining, somewhat tongue-in-cheek horror spoof films with a hard gory edge. And on that level, they work fine.

As for the Halloween series, I liked Episode 1 (A New Hope) because it established everything. 2 was a good sequel--got better with age, in my opinion, as I hated it the first time I saw it. 3 had nothing to do with Michael Myers but was very imaginative while also being kind of cheesy, so it rates at least a 5 out of 10 for me.

The other Halloween movies...well, let's not talk about those.
