The Keep

Sorry guys, here's another one of my lame "I'm watching it right now for the 1st time threads"

A horror movie about Nazis? Sounds fascinating!

it's based on novel too

should be good...better be!

ok chainsaw, shut up and watch

F. Paul Wilson, the guy who wrote the novel said about the movie that it's "Visually intriguing, but otherwise utterly incomprehensible." and i couldn't agree more

i don't know what's going on, but it looks really cool!

actually, there's quite a few SS nazi exploitation films out there. Hell Camp, Love Camp ect. I havnt seen one of them, but i cant possibly imagine that its not offensive.

I found The Keep to be a pretty good horror movie, atmospheric, with a creepy design and an interesting theme. The only drawback for me was the special effects, which in my opinion were ropey even for the time. The writer of the book on which the movie is based later wrote a short story about a writer who puts a curse on a director who screws up his story,so i guess F.Paul.Wilson didn't like the movie then.

I'm jealous....I've been coveting that movie for a year.
I got a copy that wouldn't play and didn't try again:(
I just read the book last week and I was pretty impressed with it.....
