Best Zombie book that I've read....

The Rising by: Brian Keene. It was phenomenal. Plus, the rights have been bought to be optioned into a movie. I can't wait.

Monster Island by David Wellington

Really added a breath of life to the genre...

I haven't even heard of that one. Thanks!

Blood Crazy by simon Clark was also excellent, and very original.

Have you read City of the Dead yet? It expands a lot on the mythos that Keene created with The Rising. It's a fantastic sequel, and I definitely suggest you pick it up.

I read it as soon as it was released, and yes it was great. I didn't mention it in the original post because I wanted to introduce some people to The Rising first. Keene has said that he was essentially forced to write a sequel to the Rising although he didn't necessarily want to... It's funny how good it turned out when you think of this. I did really like City of the Dead, but I loved the ending to the Rising and probably would have been content if he would have jut left it at that.
