Help Finding Title Of This Horror Movie
 

I saw this movie on TV about ten years ago and can't remember the title so I can't locate it online or at the video store. Maybe a true scary movie fan can help me. Here's the concept: It takes place in the desert after some kind of post apocalyptic event. There are about four people (two men/two women) who were obviously in the army that come upon an underground governmental lab and upon entering discover that it's totally deserted but that there had been some kind creepy experiments going on. I don't remember if they created the creatures in the lab or if they came in from outside as a result of whatever happened to earth. I do remember that in order to enter the lab, they had to open this incredible heavy steel door, and that the creatures were definitely outside. After being in the facility for a while trying to find food, and figure what happened there, they discover that one of the creatures came through the door and was somewhere in the lab. They split up to find the creature and one scene has someone getting killed as an elevator opened and the creature comes out. And I remember the finale was when the creature was lured into a shaft with a big circulation fan and it was cut into a million pieces.

Hm. Sorry, doesn't ring a bell...

It could be anything from The Creepozoids to one of the X-tro sequels.

I'm almost positive this movie is The Terror Within. Everything sounded right the first time I read this post, but I though TTW took place in a space ship like Alien---but today I read the box at the vid store, and nope, it takes place in an underground lab in the desert. Check it out---I'm pretty sure the big bad is killed in the shaft.
