Dark Remains

Dark remains was actually surprisingly good despite itīs very, very low budget. Good horror story, decent acting and some REALLY effective scares. One of the scariest movies iīve seen in a long time. Creeped me the fuck out to be honest.

I highly recomend this one to all asian ghost-horror lovers out there.

Looking forward to see lots more horror from the director Brian Avenet-Bradley in the future. He seems very horror-talented with a good imagination for spooks and creeps.

Yup - good movie. Definitely worth the rental.

I had the chance to speak to Brian Avent-Bradley a year or two ago and he was a really nice guy. Here's hoping we see more horror from him soon.

Just finished watching. Quite jumpy and a pretty descent horror.

A few ideas from other films creeping in, which is making them not so 'fresh' now. They've been tried and tested so they do work, but there comes a point where the new ideas we've seen over the past 2/3 years are getting redone. This Brian guy has good potential for some future horrors, and I'm hoping he expands these and doesn't get carried away when the budgets start rolling in.

Overall I'll give it 4/5

It sounds a lot like Shutter, which I really liked.

But it ISNīT!!!

This is the second time iīm telling you this.

I canīt understand why you keep comparing those two movies with each other. The stories are nothing alike. Neither are the scares.

But see it anyway. Itīs creepy. ;)

Dark Remains and Shutter are both good films, but the only thing they really have in common is the photography element.

Anyone seen Brian Avenet-Bradley's second film, Ghost of the Needle? It features a main character who develops photos, and the "ghost" of a murdered girl appears in some of the negatives of his photographs. Ghost of the Needle was made before Shutter, and it pretty much puts to rest any suspicions that Brian was inspired by Shutter. You might as well say Shutter ripped him off :)
