So, Inland Empire, right?

Some one has to have seen it, right? I haven't...yet (emphasis on yet).

Anyway, so it's David Lynch's new baby, and it's been released, although maybe not everywhere.

can't wait to see it. It opened in NYC on Wed. It opens in Boston today.

The rest of us have to wait until Dec 29 for the wide release

Crazy how he shot this one without a script. He knew the premise and the characters, but wrote each scene just prior to shooting it. Could be a real train wreck, but I have faith in Lynch to pull it off.

I liked his promotional stunt. He sat in a chair, and had a cow on a leash. There was a sign that said "Without milk & cheese, there would be no Inland Empire." I love it when directors pull crazy stunts like that.

I was just about to make a thread about this... Anyway, I'm a huge Lynch fan, so naturally I can't wait to see this one. Of course, I'll be waiting a while, as the chances of this coming to any theaters around here are slim to nil.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to make the drive to Charlotte to see this film. Shelby just aint the town for a Lynch film.

I really want to see this movie, but unfortunately im not quite 17 yet, so I'd have to see it with my dad and knowing lynch he would make me walk out within the first 15 minutes. Ill just have to wait until its on video when my parents wont actually even check the rating for the movie when I buy it. Crazy how it works out like that

I really want to see this after just watching Mulholland Dr., both myself and my mother were simply enthralled by that film, and this looks to be just as stunning. David Lynch is quickly becoming one of my favourite directors.

I hope it gets released here, or on DVD soon.

DVD is being released in JUNE, 2007!

I saw it on Friday. I was amazingly excited.

And then I fell asleep about 20 times during the film (that's not a joke and not an exaggeration).

I love Lynch, but this is a hard movie to love. It's three hours long, unfocused, and was shot without a final script. There are some funny moments, some scary moments, some great moviemaking. But it's also meandering, self-indulgent (there's a segment of about 25 minutes with no dialogue), and way too long. It looked to me like Lynch didn't have anyone keeping his indulgences in check for this one.

Worth seeing if you like Lynch, no doubt, but it's not the triumph that Lost Highway or Mullholland Dr. was.

Bingo. Saw it several nights ago and my thoughts are practically identical to yours. Yeah, Lynch's wild, trippy, and nightmarish thoughts are cool to a point, but when there are three hours of unexplainable questions and no translatable answers, the film shows its flaws and immense length.
