This isn't working for me or I have no clue how to use it. Can anyone help?

and if you want to change fonts or add smilies etc you have to click advanced to take you to the regular reply box anyway so there's not really much point to it

Not really.

To post a normal reply, you need to load a new page. No big deal for those of us with a good internet connection, but on dial-up it could take awhile.

With Quick Reply, you dont need to load a new page to type your reply. The box opens in the same page, potentially saving time.

I always use quick reply. It does save time. I have a good connection, but an older computer. It's a few less clicks, so it's a few seconds less time. Every second helps.
