Some guy in here claims he has an evil dead prequel, I never knew of such a thing....was it oficially released on any format? whats it about?
and is it like another case between #0-#1 like it was between #1-#2?, by that I mean where for some reason that I still don't understand, in the 2nd film, the story played out as though the first film hadnt happened? (or, if anyone can explain it otherwise, I'd be glad to hear it...)

I don't know if I'd call it a prequel exactly. BC talks about it in his book. It's basically how they got a lot of their funding. They made that short and showed it to investors.
