Vhs 4 Ever

I love my vhs tapes and I love collecting more and more of them. Am I the only one?

i have a few thousand of them .. i only get rid of them if i can replace it with an EXACT copy of laserdisc or DVD.

I've still got all my vhs tapes, doubt I'll ever get rid of them and they're probably worthless anyway. I think vhs has well and truely had it's day now, as the format is so basic compared to dvd and now that the new formats are here/on the way. The format's not even comparable to laser disc, which is as old as the hills too. It's purely for tradition & nostalgia for film collectors as regular film buyers just want the latest technology.

My video player broke a few years ago, load mechanism spring snapped. I've never bothered getting it fixed as my vhs collection is pretty much redundant. I've got some right shit films in my vhs collection, which I wont want to watch again. The better ones or ones that I want to watch again have been replaced with dvd.

None of the shops I buy from stock vhs anymore, I'd have to visit a second hand place or find a video rental shop with a bargain bin to rummage through to get vhs now.

That's what I love about it, the video sales are on and so is the hunt.

laserdisc is done now .. but if you have an elite player ... the picture quality is better than DVD..

(waaaaaaayyyy less compression - same technology)

laser disc may be done now, but a couple of films ( I may be wrong, the new Dust Devil) recenty got the special edition treatment, and they used the laser disc masters to produce the dvds.... so there's still some valuable use for laser disc.

I still have lots of VHS tapes, I still watch them, and I love them.:D

I love them especially because no one else wants them. 'Cept for geeks like you!:)

I love my laserdiscs too but some of them have the disc rot:(

Pretty soon I'll use them for Frisbees in the parking lot!
