Which was more convincing?

After watching The Blair Witch Project again, and seeing the approach the used on the TCM remake, I wonder how many people believed they were real. (or at least thought they could pass as real). Which was more believeable?

Blair Witch. The whole Sci-Fi channel special and the website made it feel real. The marketers of that film were goddamn geniuses.

most definitely blair witch! i totally believed it..yes, yes i'm one of the sheep who bought it. but hey! it scared me when i thought it was real :) as for TCM...blah

Arioch 12-24-2003 04:23 PM

blair witch project had way better marketing

LegionFilms 12-24-2003 04:27 PM

Yea, I agree with that, TCM was really on the beginning and the end of the remake. The Blair Witch had commericials, that site and was made to look like the real thing. They had more angles.

People still come into the video store where my girlfriend works and tell me that Blair Witch is real. That's really strange because the 2nd totally destroyed the whole mythology. Does anyone know if they're still doing a Blair Witch prequel?

orangestar 12-24-2003 08:45 PM

Definetly Blair Witch. I totally agree with whoever said that the marketers are geniouses.
