Need a good laugh?

Perennial games-to-film helmer Uwe Boll is getting set for his next directorial effort, a movie version of Ubisoft's Far Cry. The illustrious Dr. Boll has revealed to IGN that the film will go into production in May 2007.

We expect the game-based flick to mirror the plot of the original Far Cry, centering on a man who finds himself tied to a chair inside an old cargo ship. He is freed by an unseen stranger, and sets out to escape his captors.

Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer (Alone in the Dark) wrote the the script for the film. A rewrite is being done by Art of War screenwriter Wayne Beach.

The film was previously reported to have a budget of around $25 million. Rumor has it that filmmakers were at one time interested in courting The Rock and Naomi Watts for the lead roles. That might seem like a bit of a casting stretch, but in the world of Uwe Boll, anything is possible!

Boll also tells us that he's working on sequels to Alone in the Dark and BloodRayne.

Next up from Boll are In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Postal

In the "Has a PHD" sense, not in the "Has a PHD in Medecine" sense. Don't worry, this idiot doesnt have credentials to perform anything medical on people. He has a doctorate in Literature.... Yes, poepl who just acheive a passing grade do still get the document...

Look at El Presidente...

The mind boggles as to how this guy is still in the industry AND seems to have his hands full with contracts!

I've yet to meet a single person who thought any of his films were better than complete crap.

Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark are actually games that COULD have made really good movies...I haven't seen BR, but Alone in the Dark was so shithouse, I turned it off midway through, not to mention that the house of the dead one looks do bad I've never even CONSIDERED picking it up...

Dungeon Siege is one hell of a dissapointment...another one that COULD be really good if handled by someone who could make a half decent film.

I wonder if somehow Mr.Shitface will score Max Payne and Half-life as well...
Too damn bad I'm here, not there. I'd probably have taken him up on his boxing challenge.
