trying to put together a list of movies for some teenagers... need some suggestions

i have some younger kids in my family, 12-16 year olds. they love scary movies and thought it would be fun to rent a bunch of movies to scare the shit out of them for the next few weeks. of course the only "horror" movies they have been exposed to are movies like saw or the ring, so i want to stay in that realm of horror/suspense, just something really scary.

gore, rating, etc doesn't matter so suggest anything. thanks everyone.

The Exorcist
The Howling

If I think of more, I'll post them

gore/rating should matter for 12 year olds.

Dead Birds
Nightmare On Elm St.
The Devils Rejects
Halloween
Hellraiser

Stick with the classics, and some new classics. Dead Birds was just creepy.

gore and rating dont matter to my 7 year old sister.....unless wer going to the cinema

Sounds like they would really love;

The Blair Witch Project
Haute / High Tension
House of 1000 Corpses
The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

Trust me with these. If they haven't seen them... get them. They're modern, visually pleasing, unnerving, and have heavy helpings of gore (save TBWP - which is just fucking horrifying on a psychological level). Something casual horror fans look for.

No offense, but a lot of people will probably suggest classics. The Exorcist, Halloween, Friday the 13th, The Howling, etc. While these are staples for any horror fan, it sounds to me your audience might dig the more modern takes seen above in my list.

But of course, those classics are great suggestions too. :)

dont bore them with blair witch......gore fests......evil dead 1 and 2 always worked good at sleepover when i was in high school

I second Evil Dead 1 & 2 (not AoD). Great gorefests that offer a lot of fun!

TBWP isn't a borefest, it moves slow, but it's pretty haunting. It's sure to give the kids even the slightest hair-raising experience. More effective to me then a lot of so called "scariest movies ever". Must be due to the "you see more by showing nothing" rule.

yeah not army its a total different feel...........blair witch bored the hell outta me.....i love less is more sometimes....a lot of the time infact but it was a total let down......not even a decent ending to it
