Re-Animator Out of Print

I've never seen Re-Animator and in recent months it has been driving me crazy. Late spring/early summer I was going around to all the video stores in my area and no one had it (or any Stuart Gordon movie for that matter). Later I read on Re-animator's IMDB.com forum that it was pulled from stores around late June/early July.

At Amazon.com you can find private sellers gouging people. I visited the website of the distributors of the Millennium edition DVD (www.elitedisc.com) and emailed them weeks ago asking what was going on and if it would be released in the future, and am still waiting for a response. It looked like they were still selling the Millennium edition from their site ("looked like" at least), but they only ship within the states, while I'm in Canada.

Does anyone know more about what's going on with the movie? Why was it pulled? Will it be released again soon?

(seems my only hope now are those Netflix-type people)

That's really weird....I got a great deal on the Millenium edition at Tower records....it was only 14.99+tax....
Why would they pull it?

Yeah, I love it....Re-Animator is one of those movies you don't forget. Although if I were that chick, and I was naked with a severed head coming at me, I'd punt it like a football. It's funny she can't get rid of the heading head.

Kind of sad news, glad I already have my copy.

To the original poster:

Not sure if you have any near you, but Im in Canada as well and got mine at CD Plus. Might have been pulled from shelves there too, but worth a try.

Glad I've got my 2 copies.

I haven't actually watched it with the commentary yet, but if it's worth it I'll check it out. I still don't understand why they're pulling it though...it makes no sense.

Usually when a title gets pulled, it's because there is a new edition coming and the distributor is trying to increase demand for the product by eliminating the older (and usually cheaper) version.

That really sucks...the Millenium edition I have is AWESOME....I don't know how they're going to come out with a better one unless it glows in the dark and makes pancakes....
