Hard Candy

***SPOILER ALERT*****

I went and saw this at the cinema last night. Its about a 14 year old girl who tracks down a paedophile & tortues him. Half way through the film theres a castration scene, you don't actually see anything but the way the scenes edited is brilliant I could see other people in the cinema squirming in their seats. I've got a lot of extreme cinema in my collection but nothings ever affected me like that before i actually felt nauseous watching it myself & one of me mates walked out!

i loved this. i thought it was incredibly well done and extremely ambiguous. and ellen page is amazing in it.

that particular scene even made me uncomfortable, but what leaves you more ill at ease is how no one is completely innocent or guilty. great movie.

it's a damn good movie. Which is why there's already a thread about it:

I really, really enjoyed Hard Candy My kind of movie, however unbelieveable, or full of plot holes it was. It's definately something that will stick with me for a while.

outstanding acting by the 2 leads

pretty believable because of that ... (despite the implausibility of that kind of resourcefullness by a 14 year old)

but like i said .. so well acted that it's easily overlooked..

nice title sequence too..

Have to check this one sounds like something I'd dig.

it might be a little slower paced than people are leading you to believe ... but a must see ..
