what are some authors that deserve to be a sucessesful as stephen king

While stephen king is a pretty good author, I think that there are a lot of authors out there that are more deserving of the sucess that he has. What are some of those authors.

Well Stephen King really does deserve it..i mean.he has definatively worked hard to become the "literary boogeyman" that he has become, and i highly respect his work..however i do think some authors should be recognized more. Some are more talented and imaginative than a lot of other authors out there.I personally like Dean Koontz of course, but 2 authors that i dont think get the respect they deserve are Bentley Little and Robert R McCammon.. I have several of their books, and think they are very talented writers that do not recieve the respect and admiration they deserve!

I'm just gonna copypaste my list from the King thread. Here are some authors whose work is superior to King's, and deserve the same amount of attention.

Thomas Ligotti
Clive Barker
Peter Straub
Brian McNaughton
Kathe Koja
Caitlin R. Kiernan
Simon Clark
Bentley Little
Tim Lebbon
Robert Aickman
Harlan Ellison
H.P. Lovecraft
