Deadwood
I am in the midst of watching Season 2 of HBO's Deadwood.
This show is awesome! Al Swearingen has to be one of the funniest characters to ever grace our television screens. Anyone else watch Deadwood? I took a road trip to the actual town of Deadwood about a year ago for some sightseeing & poker. Good time. It's like a mini-Vegas (Nowhere near as cool, but there's about 30 casinos in a 1 mile radius.) |
i watched the first season...and have to admit i was impressed....i've yet to check out the second
|
I've watched both seasons and I love it.....incidently was'nt there a nasty rumor floating about that it was going to be cancelled?
If they(HBO)cancells it then they should really burn in hell....really. |
Well, not cancelled really. It's just ending. 3rd season will be the last full season and then they will wrap it up with 2 2 hour special episodes.
A show like that can only go on for so long because it's based on facts. After 3 seasons, ya sorta start running out of the good stories. Plus, by the end of the 3rd season, Dakota Territory should be a state, so the lawlessness will be gone too, making it much less interesting and much more like any other town back then. Side note.... I've been to Deadwood & it's awesome. Great little poker town and only about 10 hour drive from me, so it's great for a long weekend roadtrip. There's probably 30 casinos on a 1 mile stretch of road and you can still go to Nuttal's #10 Salloon where Wild Bill got shot. (I played a poker tourney at that bar while I was out there.) |
The first season was great, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the second. I've only seen the first two episodes so far, so maybe it picks up a little. But even if it doesn't, the first season still stands as some of the greatest television ever.
And now, for a message from our dear friend, Al Swearengen: "Cocksuckers!" |
