I accidentally bought Undead on pay-per-view while trying to get info on it. Since I had already bought it, I watched it. It started off good and then in the space of five minutes went to hell. It was like walking into a picturesque town a la Blazing Saddles and then realizing the whole damn place is made of carboard....way high on the DERP scale...

I actually like UNDEAD, I think they did a great job with the budget. And I like the Alien element in the film. Marion (the crazy fisherman) is cooler than Ash IMHO!

Well I can understand that I'm probably alone in thinking he's cooler than Ash.

But I did love the scene, where he throws the two hands guns in the air, uses the shotgun, then catches the guns! I'm not a big fan of action films, but I love the over the top ness(?) of that scene. He's like some crazy homage to Clint Eastwood.

Maybe the film got over hyped but I can't really understand all the flak it gets.

Did you also like the flip and stick his spurs into the wall to shoot upside down move? HORRIBLE
He was alright, but for the most part the movie sucked, a couple good moments ruined by the rest of the film.

Each to their own I guess, but I do like a bit of cheese now and then. Another scene I liked was the homage to the Resident Evil games, when the key to Marion's sparkles. I have to admit I did groan a couple of times but overall I thought it's heart was in the right place, and it showed a love towards the genre.

i liked the female lead .. i liked the alien twist .. i liked the burning rain and i liked some of the zombie gore...

i didnt like Marion .. i guess there's no 'right look' for a role like that - i just didnt find him satisfying ...

i might have a bias vs beards ..

Don't get me wrong, I love cheesy movies. This one just struck the wrong tone with me. I didn't really like the story. Still, I guess it could have been worse...I could have accidentally bought Funny Girl or The Way we Were or Yentyl.....I wouldn't have slept THAT night....

I think what really killed Undead for me is the fact that I watched Dead and Breakfast not too long afterwards. D&B had more humor, gore, and wit.
