The Exorcism of Emily Rose
 

I have been debating with myself if The Exorcism of Emily Rose is worth watching.

I have watched the exorcist and wondered if this was any better? Can anyone give me their opinion?

It is worth watching, but turns out to be full of crude CGI shocks and only one really scary bit (when she is missing from bed at College).

I thought this movie was a joke. It was supposed to be a horror film, but it is actually more of a courtroom drama.

It is Law&Order: Exorcist, but I was prepared for that. I gave my review in the Last Seen...thread. There was one element that I really think lowered the whole movie, but as a psychological horror/drama, it's really pretty good.

There's alot of threads on this, but I'll add my 2 cents again.

I really enjoyed it,. but Im a big fan of courtroom stuff.

It has to be as good, if not better than Rose Red.

I enjoyed this movie and it was one of the better horror movies of the year. I didn't have high expectations for it but it was pretty good. As for being better than "The Exorcist" question, I wouldn't rank it up with that all-time classic but definitely worth a watch. Go check it out. 8/10

Well, I dont hate court room dramas, but they didn't promote it as a court room drama. Thats the problem. People went to see a horror film, not Law and Order. This film cant even seriously be classified as horror.

Generally a good movie. Sure its boring sometimes but its pretty interesting. It wont exactly scare the shit out of you THAT much..

I thought I must have missed something when I saw this film, because I couldn't understand what was horror about it.

Well yeah ok, they got the usual formula of raising the volume really high enough to make you jump, but scary? no. Courtroom drama yes.

Too much story for my liking, I watch horror because I don't care too much about story lines, they bore me. I just want to see blood and guts! But hey, we're all different huh?
