The Kindred

*SPOILERS*
Well, what was your opinions of this movie? I got it at a video clearance outlet, and I thought it was pretty entertaining but I like cheesy horror flicks....I thought that Rod Steiger looked like he was having WAY to much fun at the end when the monster was finally getting him and he was being doused with gallons of what looked like good ol' KY jelly....was that look on his face actually embarrasement?

i got it years and years ago when i was into anything horror i could find.
I remember finding it pretty unremarkable at the time but it's been a while..

It's just one of those forgettable but strangely entertaining movies....the monster in the watermelon was surely a stroke of...well, maybe just a stroke.....

Still, it could have been worse I guess, and the copy of the video I got is in perfect condition....hard case and all....

It's been a while since I've seen it but I recall the cool box art..a "thing" inside a baby's bottle and it was a decent flick if I remember correctly.

Cool appliance makeups by Matthew Mungle.

Very good to see Rod Steiger covered in gallons of slime. It's like going bowling or eating coffee flavored jello, doing it once is good for you.

Awesome monster film!

Some ace body horror, particularly in the watermelon/car sequence.

The tagline on the videobox was cool too: 'David's got a half brother... half brother, half something else'....

I'm actually really stoked on the cover it came in. It's a hard case with all the cover art in perfect condition, and the tape plays great...and MM, the monster in the baby bottle IS on the cover, and it looks awesome.....for people who collect horror movie tattoos, that would be a great one that not many people would have...

Hot damn, I forgot all about that watermelon scene until just now. That was cool! Tentacled monsters and watermelons go together like.....hot dogs and donuts!

Miss Olivia 06-15-2006 01:17 PM

LOL yeah, the watermelon scene is pretty original....you see monsters come out of many things but not usually produce...unless you count those damn Cabbage Patch dolls(shudder) now there are monsters for ya....the dog/tentacle in the floor thing was pretty bad too...
