... :(
I'm honestly lost for words...

monalisa 04-29-2006 11:21 PM

OMG, that's horrible. I couldn't even watch the whole video. What the hell is wrong with people these days? No respect for life.

noctuary 04-30-2006 04:58 AM

I couldn't watch, it's just too horrible. I tried to tell myself that it wasn't real, but I have the sinking feeling that it is. It seems that the world descends further into depravity every day.

Haunted 04-30-2006 05:20 AM

I couldn't watch it either. That's really really depraved. I can't even comprehend how someone could do that with a clear conscience. I can't comprehend anything close to that.

Pardon me whilest I wax Witchy...

May Pasht and Her glorious sister Sekhmet walk among them. May They're swords be drawn. May the Daughters of Ra rip them to shreds with swords teeth and claws!

DO NOT LET HAMMERFAN WATCH THIS!!!!

In fact, I think I'm going to pm her and warn her not even to open the thread. I'm going to tell her that you aren't being an asshole or anything, Cheeba, but that you just wanted to bring these horrible atrocities to our attention. I certainly don't fault you for that. The more that people know, the more that we can take a stand. However, Hammerfan, could not even begin to take something like this. It would totally break her heart. I hope this is okay with you, Cheeba. (I want to put some sort of emoticon at the end, but they don't have one to express how I feel).

Ugh, I saw the first pic and the title and wouldn't look at the rest. I'm assuming the second link is along the same lines. For as many bite marks my cat leaves on me I could never do anything like this.

I think it's unfortunate that animal cruelty cases are rarely prosecuted and usually end up with a slap on the wrist if they are, especially since a lot of the time it's a precursor for worse to come.

Another thing that makes me angry...a little off topic...is how many states want to ban the breeding of pit bulls because of horrible owners. These people should also be shot...from what I see here I doubt they could raise their children much better...put them in a little cage too. I think some type of regulation would be okay...but my sister has one that she adopted and she is the nicest dog ever, even when she's playing she's never hurt us or anyone else. The only thing she used to do...when my sister and her bf at the time would get into a fight she'd go piss on his side of the bed...hehe

anyways.

I read that the animals are sedated so that they can't fight or try to run...So, supposedly they don't really feel anything (which is what they tell the girls to encourage them to do it...well, that and the fat check...)...But...Still...I can't imagine that they would have a market for it...Yet, the guys who make the films say that they're getting rich quick...

Also...Bear in mind...This is happening predominantly in Asia...Where they have killed and eaten these animals for ages....I saw a Korean family kill, skin, chop, season, flour, and deep fry a whole box of 8 week-old German Sheppard puppies...For them, it wasn't odd, gross, extreme, shocking, gruesome, brutal, or whatever...It was just...dinner...

Not all cultures are like ours...The same things that are so shocking to US, can be merely 'common' in other places...

Humans....You just never know....

cheebacheeba 04-30-2006 06:42 AM

Point about cultural differences duly noted.
I think the line should be drawn at doing this kind of thing for entertainment, regardless of the supposed market demand.

Can someone summarize what the links go to? I don't think I want to look.

Koreans started consuming dogs during the war because food was so scarce at the time. It is not widely accepted by the majority today but it can still be found in some back alley restaurants. The people that consume it nowadays do it because they believe it gives them certain strengths and abilities of the dog. You know how Asian cultures can be... next they will be eating Tiger penis because they think it will make them better lovers, but wait... they already do that, don't they.

They seem to have three of the videos hosted on www.steakandcheese.com with a link to the PETA website to protest the cruelty.

I made it through about 3 seconds of the kitten and refuse to touch anything similar. It still makes me sick to my stomach and brutally angry.
