Ginger Snaps

I'm not a big fan of werewolf movies. I saw Dog Soldiers and thought it was well done, but I still thought the werewolf aspect was kind of lame (even though that's the best a werewolf has ever looked on film to me). So, is Ginger Snaps still a good film if you're not a fan of the werewolf genre?

Fuck yeh dude.

It has more going for it than the werewolf thing. Very cool coming of age flick. It has a bunch of feminist overtones you'll either love or hate. One of the better modern horror flicks.

and it's Canadian, yo !

Ginger Snaps is one of my favorite movies. EC is right, there's a lot more than just the werewolf factor. It's not the way to go if you're looking for a scare, though. There's a decent dark comedy aspect to it that I love.

Same here, I love Ginger Snaps. I own all of them and theyre all decently good. Ginger Snaps is by far the best out of the three though. These girls are very dark and twisted but it is suck a good movie...youll like it. your retarded if you dont watch it.

Of the three, I liked the second one the best. They are good movies because of those dark overtones and the nonending angst.

i saw this a couple days ago. i found it pretty enjoyable, but the werewolf at the end looked kinda dumb.

Sick_As_Fuck 03-03-2006 10:27 PM

Yeah, it's definitely not a horror movie. I liked the first one but I thought "Snaps Back" was awful. Haven't seen the second one.

GS is smart and hip and has a cool political edge - but its not a 'horror film' in the traditional sense.

I love GINGER SNAPS, and I just want to say that when people complain that a horror film is not a horror film, what they really mean is that it is not a body count movie. People who think GINGER SNAPS is not a horror film, or 28 DAYS LATER is not a zombie film, are the narrow minded dumbassess who put THE EXORCIST in the drama section at my local video store.

Monsters, murders, blood, that's the stuff of horror baby, and GINGER (all three) meet my quota, plus they're good.
