Carnivale although not horror per se, it certainly has its moments and there are definitely some horror-esque thematic elements. I just recently rented the first two episodes and I hafta admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be, but it was still pretty cool. and there is some definite potential for this show to be great. like I said, I've only seen the first 2 episodes. so what I'm wondering is: Should I bother to rent the rest of the series? I really want to like this show, but the first two episodes were not too mind-blowing. p.s. it's pretty damn cool that they got the little midget guy from Twin Peaks and Adrienne Barbeau (who is finally showing her age). http://www.artisartis.nl/archives/carnivale.jpg |

yeah, it got cancelled, which is why I'm having to rent the dvds. I don't think I'm gonna rent anymore past that first disc. |

i've started watching 6 Feet Under and so I'm open to watching HBO things on DVD. . . but i'm wary of Carnivale - it seems like it could really be a letdown. . . that's why i'm refusing to watch LOST until its all over. Twin Peaks pissed me off with the 'no real ending' crap - - - so I'm not investing my time in a never-ending narrative 'epic' |

I have a feeling I would really enjoy 6 Feet Under if I could sit down and actually watch them back to back...at this point it would require a small fortune just to rent all of the episodes I've missed. And Twin Peaks(I loved that show)was good until people(myself included) discovered Lynch was basically making the shit up as he went along.Did'nt Oliver Stone do something similar a few years later? It was a t.v. series.....it's gonna piss me off I can't remember. |
