Best horror music

Im sure many will say Psycho, Halloween etc, but for me the best is the opening music for Sewage Baby - very eerie piano
music.
There's a trailer for the film here which starts off with the music, have a listen and let me know what you think:

The theme tune for Cannibal Holocaust is rather nice. It doesn't really reflect the nature of the film; it's just a nice tune.

Anything that's creepy or hair raising like that dreadful sound that plays in the begging and end of "The Entity", for example. I hate that popular soundtrack stuff. It takes away from the atmospheric tone of the film.

Agree with that, but I think it adds a whole new horror aspect to the film. The film is very grim, yet we have this lovely music to lighten the tone. But somehow it makes the film much darker (for me anyway).

For me, it is the Suspiria one.

how could we forget the techno-disco opening credits theme to friday the thirteenth part 3?? hmm.

or the original dawn of the deads music... lol.

not.

I'm in band, so of course i love all the orchestra stuff. So, i think the chase music in the new House of Wax was really nice. For a movie of lower horror standards, i was just, happy with that music. Also red eye, when Jack was chasing mcadams through the airport, and everytime she fell or something, the french horns would do a weird trill (a trill, for those of you who don't no, is when you play one note and hold it out, while pressing down a key and releasing it repeatedly really fast)

Suspiria's was really good, The Omen, almost all of the themes by Carpenter, I don't know really there are sooooo many. I dig some of the heavy metal stuff and other themes from todays movies but they just don't have "it". I did however LOVE the Devil's Rejects soundtrack and the Dawn of the Dead remake had a great Cash song as well as a good Richard Cheese version of Down with the Sickness. Unfortuanately there are just songs now, no real themes anymore.

That's what I miss.... the "themes" rather than basic music. I'd rather a movie producer use theme/horror music to make the scene even better rather than some popular band music.
Here's a piss poor example.... :D
'Ballroom Blitz' in "Tales From The Crypt-- Bordello Of Blood"
What's up with a song like 'Ballroom Blitz' being in a horror movie? As if the movie wasn't bad enough, they had to throw that into the mix. That's like tossing in chili seasoning into a badly made batch of cookies. :p

halloween , exorist, friday the 13th part 3 opening music.

LOL Everybody likes this piece of music from Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D. I like it very much as well. I'll never get tired of listening to it. Last night, I was listening to this piece of music, and my mother entered my room and after 10 seconds she was... DANCING! And I was shocked. I laughed my head off for about ten minutes. LOL And she still keeps asking me why I listen to such "disgusting" music. LOL Look, who's talking.
