PG-rated horror movies

Which PG-rated horror movies do you like? I really love Poltergeist and Amityville 3-D. By the way, I really think horror movies should NEVER be rated PG. I mean, really can't BELIEVE Poltergeist is actually rated-PG. The same with Amityville 3-D, it is remarkably violent for a PG-rated film.

Children Shouldnt Play With Dead Things is an allright PG film.

By The Way, Welcome Aboard!

Thank you! Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things... I'll buy that movie as soon as I can! :)

Poltergeist was notable, actually, because a lot of people were outraged that the film got a PG when it so clearly seemed to be "R" material--it was scary as all hell and fairly graphic and disgusting at moments. Raiders of the Lost Ark got similar reactions from some audience members.

Finally the PG-13 rating was created for those films that weren't quite "R" material but a bit intense for a PG...leading up to the release of "Dreamscape," the first PG-13 rated film.

I liked that movie. I also disagree about it being rated PG.

Supposedly they tried to slap Jaws with an R. But the filmmakers appealed, claiming that all the killing was done by an animal, so no "evil" was involved...basically arguing that the film was sort of a nature study.

They got their PG, but with a special note that said something like "May be too intense for younger viewers"...

I don't think they'd get away with that today.

But notice how many times STEVEN SPIELBERG has been lucky with PG-ratings.........................

I think so too. That's pretty weird.
