Did you feel sorry for the firefly's?
So I finally got to see the Devils Reject's last night..I know I know lame huh..Wow this was a great movie. I love how Rob turned the Firefly's into the victims and humanized them it was amazing, I actually felt sorry for them in the end, did anyone else feel this way?

They raped, tortured and killed over 75 people so I wouldn't say eating ice cream and getting chased by a cop who's flipped out warrents sympathy. When you think about all the shit they did I'd say they got off easy.
Having said that, while I didn't feel sorry for them, I did find myself cheering 'em on(for lack of a better phrase) the rest of the way following the scene in the truck. |
Three cheers for antiheros.

Kind of. The emotion I felt wasn't so much sympathy.
I, unlike just about everyone else, hated that stupid cop. I didn't think he was funny, cool, or believable. Therefore, I would rather be on the Firefly family's side, amore connectable (in a sick way), fun, and lovable set of characters. (Great movie, by the way). |
I think TDR was a good example of characters not just being black or white. You know they are twisted individuals yet the end of the movie (to me) was a beautiful piece of movie making. They went out in a hail of gunfire reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde.
To answer another question - Otis was my favourite character. |
