Theory On Horror Fans
Studies show that the majority of hardcore horror fanatics, have at one point suffered something to cause Post Traumatic Stress;
and that the horror flicks they now watch regularly, work as a form of therapy. Any thoughts? I somewhat agree. I always loved horror, even from a REAL young age. I can look back as far as i can remember and ive always been into it. Renting the movies from mom and pop shops..running back to my mouse to pop them in with a buddy etc. Things were normal and happy then. Things still are. But i definitly had one shitty experience in life, and it seems like i now enjoy horror much more when im stressed out and in a really bad mood. i wonder if there is any connection? |
Well, I watch them because I like to dissect girls.
Did you know I'm utterly insane? |
I watch horror movies cuz I think they have the best stories of all films... I've had a great life.

I agree with you Skoof, As you probobly know im just about to turn 17, but I went through the most terribal 9th grade year you could ever amagine. But before that year horror was the same as comedy, now it seems as if horror is my entire life. Im the only person in my school that walks around w/ a shirt that says " When thiers no more room in hell, the dead will walk the eath" And everytime I open my locker people are shedded with the images of Movies like Aftermath, Audition, Gozu, and Zombi 2. What im trying to say is I think Even though I love horror. I think I also use it to help me, and get me by life problems. Its a way to help release all the extreme hatred you feel towards others. |
you could be on to something SkoofX..
i watch horror cos I like the thrill of somebody getting massacared.. but em sure that if i delve deep enough ..em probably seeking revenge.. |
Didn't we already cover this?

I know I love seeing people get massacred and horror is definately therapy, so I want to agree with that theory. I think that it might be the parents and not the movies themselves that have to do with more horror fans having traumatic experiences. You remember the kids who could never watch horror movies (or R rated movies), strict parents etc. I think having lax parents that don't know/care about what you're doing/watching has it's downs. I never had any limits on anything really, it's a lot easier to fuck up that way. Not that I would have wanted it another way, but my point is that without "help" it's easier to get into shitty predicaments. |
