The Ed Gein Movie

Hey anyone see the movie come and talk about it.

What the fuck is up with that movie being called In the Light of the Moon? One real good case of ampfication and denial of human spirit in a motion picture....

Ezra Cobb is the real Ed Gein.

I saw this movie. It runs often on cable. Steve Railsback plays Ed Gein. At the end of the movie, they have real film footage of his arrest. I've read that several movies were based on his story - Psycho (mommy made me do it) and Texas Chain Saw Mass (chop them up and eatem). I think the movie gives you some insight into the abuse and oppression Gein endured as a boy from his parents which distorted him into a freak obsessed with body parts from the dead, and then into a killer, his hatred (but I think fear) of women, etc. For me, whenever someone raised by a bible thumper turns into a killer or abuser, it confirms certain theories I have.

Scream on...........

u all talking about deranged or another film?

I have ED Gein aka/ In the light of the moon (2000). Not half bad. Gives a bit of background and if you like horror history it's at least worth a look. The films Psycho, TCM, and Silence of the Lambs were derived from the Ed Gein story.

That's not true, Silence of the Lambs was not.

yes it was about buffalo bill making women suits, Ed Gein is the one who did that

The majority of serial killer films are loosley inspired by Gein

Terrible movie. Most of the serial killer biopics have been disappointing to me. Anyone familiar with the Ed Gein story knows this film took MANY liberties in presenting it, so much that you have to wonder what the point of treading over this already familiar ground is. I mean, why not just watch better (and still only loosely based) versions of the story like Deranged or Psycho?

Are you reffering to the Ed Gein flic that was part of that whole series of serial killer flics (Bundy, Dahmer, Gacy etc.)? If so Gein is the only one I have not seen yet. All the rest are really good esp. Gacy ..God that movie made me feel dirty after watching it.
