HELP! Movietitle

Im hoping someone can help me with this.

Im looking for a movie that most likely belongs to the 80's.
My problem is that i only remember the coverart of the movie, and that most of the scenes were dark, filmed at night.

The coverart had a gorilla/bigfoot-like creature on it with some huge teeth and i also think it had red eyes. I think it showed the creature more or less from the side. This was a european release of the VHS.

I probably was about 13-14 when i saw it, so i dont remember a thing more than what i have said so far.
But im pretty sure it was a real B-movie :)

Any one out there have any idea what movie this can be? Its time for some nostalgia so im wanting to try to get some of those 80's horror movies again :D

All help appreciated!

Congo is the only fitting that description of the box that I can think of.

i see its from the mid 90's.. the one im talking about is most likely made somewhere between 80-88.

Needless to say, the creature walked around killing people, and it always happened at night as far as i can remember. i remember only dark scenes from it.. lol

Ape-like creature with big teeth? Could it be Boggy Creek, by any chance?
