There's Something About Zombies.

I have come to the conclusion that there's just something about ZOMBIES! Damn near everybody loves 'em and they come in all shapes and sizes and there are different brands out there to choose from. Zombies are the hamburger or hot dog of the horror entertainment world.

The rising and city of the dead by brian keene (2 part book) = The best thing to happen to zombies SINCE the NOTLD.

Beautifully written. I was glued to that shit.
Loved the character and the whole take on zombies.

The reasone they are so "admired" is that most other monsters, ghosts etc. are completely fictitious and probably will never come to fruition, zombies on the other hand are truly possible not probable but possible maybe not in the form that we are used to in the movies but maybe in some other fashion.
