Anyone here ever make a coffin ?

I lost the number of the guy I talked to about making me one once before. I'm not King Woodshop, but figure it can't be too hard to do. Anyone ?

Buy a shovel and get one the old fashioned way.

Just use an old shoebox ;)

Apparently when the sarcasm rains around here, we all got wet.
Getting one the old fashioned way would be too much work (esp to clean out the inside).
I am not burying a hamster/bird/kitten/midget/bunny etc. I need to make as a prop for a film. I figured tonight would be a good night to get started on it since I'm not getting anything else done right now.

Me thinks it would depend on how simple or extravagent you want it to look.

A simple pine box type coffin, such as those seen in spagetti style westerns, would be quite simple to make.

One of a modern standard I think would be quite difficult. Especially if your not a carpenter. I would think though that a qualified cabinetmaker could build one for you.

Perhaps you may be able to rent one from a local mortcian.

Seriously.

Thanks, guys. Between these and plans I got in a PM, I should be all set. And I thought I'd get nothing done today :D The inlay patterns on the sides add a real nice touch to it. I wouldn't have thought of it.
