Hi, guys and gals!
Hey there,
I'm a pro musician and I'm obviously new here. I recently got into watching and collecting classic horror movies. I used to be into it when I was much younger, but now I'm intrigued like never before. Some of my favorite classics are "The Devil Walks At Midnight" (I think thats the US title, not sure of the original) and also "Nightmare Castle" (man oh man Barbara Steele... love her..) I'm also a big zombie guy, or at least one day I'll be. I'm here to learn from the gurus and hopefully pick up some great reccomendations along the way. Take care, -Mitch |
Welcome! Hope you have a good sense of humor and thick skin. Prepare to be flamed!

LOL!! Nice one. welcome...crush a peach. |
I love it when noobs dont say anything annoying or stupid. And you didn't. So I'll actually give you a nice, wholehearted welcome.
That's really good that you appreciate the classics, it's something that not everyone can. Check out Nosferatu (1922) or House on Haunted Hill (1959). They're both great classics. Also, obviously I'll recommend the Romero series for zombie flicks, assuming you haven't seen them. But you probably have. But in case you haven't it goes like this: Night of the Living Dead (1968)- Probably the second best in the series, and this can definately considered a classic. Black and white doesn't stop Romero from scaring you out of your mind. Dawn of the Dead (1978)- My personal favorite of the series, but many will disagree with me, as they have before. A lot of gore, a lot of fun scenes. Just a really fun movie. Day of the Dead (1985)- Definately the goriest and definately the darkest, but very, very good. Creates a new kind of fear/feeling with a new plot and setting. Land of the Dead (2005)- By far my least favorite, Land of the Dead was kind of a dissapointment, at least to me. But a lot of people loved it, so don't just take it from me. Some effective moments, but overall a really big letdown. Anyway welcome, hope you enjoy it here. (This is the longest post I've ever written to a noob. Congratulations.) |
welcome...............don't take things personally......etc

hahaha thanks for the welcome guys
Ill check those out, although I do have all of the romero zombie flicks (except for land, of course). Most people bitch about how bad Day of the Dead was, but I fucking dig it. Gotta pick up Nosferatu and HOHH |
You can usually get HoHH and Nosferatu REEALLY cheap...gotta love public domain:)
If you're into the older horror movies, here's a set I highly recomend: http://img78.exs.cx/img78/8448/1fiftyhorror.jpg It comes with 50 classic horror movies, here's a site with info about it, and the full list of the movies: http://www.crazyape.com/product.aspx...oductID=137757 By the way, welcome! Hope you stick around! |
Wow man that looks like a good deal.
I'll probably get it, but for some reason I like having a seperate dvd and packaging for each movie. Even though it takes up so much space. Maybe because it takes up so much space.. I dunno. Great deal though, thanks for the heads up, I'll probably pick that one up. -Mitch |
