Cool game intros...
...Sometimes we can skip 'em, sometimes we can't....but, there's nothing like a cool intro to set the tone for a game.
I remember the getaway sequence at the beggining of "Flashback: The quest for identity" was really well done, cinematic, and very cool. One that I've been thinking about a little bit over that last few days is "Duke nukem: Planet of the babes"...truly excellent opening, set to the statix X song "push it", Duke blasting away the badguys, and leaping into the portal that closes behind him...way cool. And, resident evil 2 - The first time I saw it, I was like "how fucking cool was that??!!!?" The whole truck thang... So yeah, I want you guys to think about it, and add a few of your own... |
I always liked both the intros to Half-Life and they hunger.
The music and ambient noise at the beginning oh HL definately made you feel as though something important was going to happen. They hunger's just set the stage well. |
Diablo II was very atmospheric and good
Undying was cool Half Life 2.... when I wacked up the sound, I thought holy shit, the atmosphere of the original came flooding back. GTR racing intro is good... gets you in the mood for burning rubber. ;) will have a think of some more. |
