strange little thing.

It happened a few years ago, when I lived with my dad in his new house.

I was together with my little brother in the house. He was under the shower, I was checking my email (or something). Then I heard a baby crying VERY VERY loud. But we don't have any babies in our neighbourhood. So that was kinda strange. Then I heard several people running up and down our stairs, and muttering. But there was no one!

I was really upset. My brother came out of the bathroom and he'd heard the baby as well. He didn't hear the people on the stairs, but it already was kinda strange that he heard the baby, since he was under the shower.

Well. It stopped after that and I never heard something alike again...

some small animals sound like babys crying - cats do sometimes ..

It was definitely no cat :) I've got a cat myself, so I'd recognize a cat making noise.

i have one too - always did - but one night i heard what i thought was a baby crying - it was eerie - and it turned out to be a cat in heat ... which is also eerie...

Yep I know. Though what I said in the first post was in the morning, like 11am or something. :)

Yeah man, they make some crazy-ass vocalisations huh?!?
Long drawn out, like a cry...haunting...so loud sometimes too...

Then sometimes, when you hear cat's fighting, when one of them gets hurt, sometimes you hear something that almost sounds like a high pitched "yeow!"
...hard to describe, but yeah, cats in heat...fucking weird sounds.

Although, in this case, I doubt it would have been cats...because they're never something you hear once and never again, (and I doubt cats fuck quite hard enough to make a suitable impersonation of footsteps running up and down stairs haha)...they're usually out in freakin' week long nightly intervals.

Nope, we don't have racoons here. I SWEAR it wasn't an animal. No animal cries like a baby.
