Boy Meets Girl

WOW, all I have to say.

Just got done watching this and I was blown away. It was like a mixture of Man Bites Dog and Saw. The film is intelegent which you dont see all to often. Basicly this guy meets this girl in a bar. He goes up to her appartment for a little nookie but she drugs him ties him up and then tortures him. Sounds like a snuff film, but it is much more. In fact its kind of like Phone Booth. The chick knows hes married and is teaching him a lesson... But i dont want to give too much away. Do your self a favor and Watch this movie If you come accross a copy of it.;)

It's history is far more interesting than the actual film itself.

It was given an '18' cert in the UK by the BBFC, but at the same time they refused to give it a Video certificate.
As it was such a minority interest film any distributor would HAVE to have a video release to make back their money...with no chance of a video certificate it meant no one picked up the film and so it never even got it's allowed cinema release.

As such the 'no video' stance by the BBFC banned the film via the back door. Though ultimately it probably gave the film more of a reputation than it would have had.

A few years later it was given an uncut '18' cert for Video release anyway!

The BBFC strikes again. They seem to go out of their way to not let people see movies like this. At least its easier to get a copy of stuff these days since DVD came onto the scene. BBFC have a lot to answer for..... total genre killers.
