The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

Anyone seen this classic German expressionism/horror flick? It's damn good for as old as it is. It's widely accepted as the first horror film. There is a book called Caligari's Children that talks about the film and how it basically spawned the genre we know and love.

Hell, yes. A fine example of german expressionism on film. I'm glad someone else is into that. Check out Murnau if you haven't. Check out Fritz Lang, he did Metropolis. There's tons of it.

I haven't seen Murnau, but Metropolis is awesome.

Yes! I enjoyed Caligari and Metropolis very much!

I was a bit disappointed. Think I was too excited about finally seeing it that nothing could have satisfied me. One of the classic movie channels showed Der Golem last week. I was happy to mark another silent horror movie off my haven't-seen list.

I've seen parts of Der Golem. The monster looked quite good for them days.
