Kinda scary....

I was just walking down the hall at work when i heard a weird "click" every time i took a step with my left foor. So i looked to see if there was something stuck to it and there was,

A nasty, rusty, jagged, barbed 2 inch steel roofing nail was stuck 3/4 of the way into the foam sole of my shoe. The weird thing is that it was stuck in parallel to the ground, so it would not have stuck in my foot, but talk about dodging a bullet.... If i had hit it the other way, i would get to go to the emergency room and get a tetanus shot...

Now, what i am wondering is, how the hell does a nail get stuck in sideways like that?

I've had this happen too, took off my shoe and said to the others in the room, "wtf who's been nailing my shoes, there's no way that would stick in from just walking" never worked out how it got there.
