It's really sad he was one of the few authors I really respected from that era. I always fucking hated pricks like Jack Kerouac (On The Road is one of the most overatted books ever - listening to a dumb fucking jock brag about his stupid roadtrip now that's a book :o ) Hunter always told it how it was and was a champion of personal freedom. R.I.P Mr Thompson hopefully they had a big fat blotter waiting for you at the pearly gates.
