Twisted Brain (1974)
Great mid-70's horror film features abused but basically decent schoolnerd Vernon Potts (Pat Cardi) who invents a potion that turns him into a vicious monster. Vernon slaughters all his enemies, of course, and a lot of the graphic violence was cut from TV prints, most notably a scene showing the evil gym teacher being stomped to death with cleats (!). Featuring Austin Stoker (ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13) as the homicide detective.
Comes complete with its own bright red blood-dripping freeze frame title, the way they did 'em in the 70's. It has all the earmarks of classic 70's trash horror. Cheap production.
This is totally amazing, with a crazy rock soundtrack. Just released on Rhino's "Horrible Horror" DVD box set under its other title, "Horror High." One of my favorites from late night TV in the 70's. This was rated PG, but would surely get an R today for vicious nasty violence!
