Anacondas: The Search for The Blood Orchid
 

Anyone besides me seen this? Interested in your thoughts.....

I watched it last weekend with my girlfriend, and I went into it expecting it to suck. It was our throwaway flick for the night, the one we put on when her son and my son go to bed and we wait for them to fall asleep so we can have some "alone time".....

The reason I ask opinions, is because, after suffering through 'Troy' earlier in the day (I am still so pissed at that movie), Anacondas by comparison didnt really suck. True, it was a sequal that wasnt a sequel, and the story was as thin as Brad Pitt's acting ability (told you I was still pissed!), but it didnt really suck.....and part of me feels like it should have, you know?

So I need to hear other opinions....

One thing I will say, that was good about the movie, is that for once, the characters realized they were in a dangerous situation and tried to get the fuck out....which so often doesnt happen. "Oh, theres monsters up there? Lets go see!".....

Although, why they took a boat instead of a helicopter is beyond me....

i only liked the character who used the flare gun at the end

I have both Anaconda and Anacondas: The Hunt for the blood orchid and in my opinion, the first one had a better story, better actors and better character development. The second had much better effects, better camera work and more tension building spots.

Kinda funny how BOTH movies had one guy who was money hungry enough to turn on the other characters. (Okay, techniqally the first one had two guys, but not for very long).

In a nut shell, I perferred the first one.

TOO MUCH CGI! I didn't like it.

the first one was a laugh because voight was so over the top ... and lopez was in it ...

there is absolutely nothing that would make me see the 2nd one..

hmmm have seen the first one....Isnt the second one made by that Little guy...who made Halloween 4 ?...gonna check this one out when its on dvd here in Norway...
...and i didnt know "Troy" sucked big time..but thanks for the advise...i'm not gonna rent it....

I saw it. It was ok. It wasn't nothing to rant and rave about. If I were judging (using stars...5 stars being the best) I would give it 2 stars.
