Man's Finger Chewed Off In Brawl

Zimbabwe - A man had a finger chewed off during a bar brawl in Harare's sister city of Chitungwiza last week, court officials heard on Thursday.

Alex Nyarubokoro was remanded on bail of $100 000, said an official at the Chitungwiza Magistrate's Court.

The court heard that while at a bar a man had allegedly fondled Nyarubokoro's wife's back, sending him into a rage.

He subsequently accused his wife of having an affair with the man and a fight ensued, the court was told.

At this point a stranger intervened to stop the fight, but an angry Nyarubokoro grabbed his hand and chewed one finger off.

It is assumed he swallowed the finger as it was never found.
