The Green Mile
 

I saw this for the first tiome this past weekend. Stephen Kingf has a way of making incredible prison stories. Why did i like this onne better than Shawshank? No Buttsex.

Not really why, but it is valid. I was surprised to see the late (great) Michael Jeter without his moustache. Not to mention Guy from galaxy quest as a pedophile murderer rapist. And lets not forget the X-Files' Eugene Victor Tooms as Percy.

Michael Clark Duncan was awsome. Stephen King has a great knack for "turnabout is fair play". I also had a soft spot for Mr Jingles. i have a mouse that looks exactly like him. (cute little bastard)

I dont really have to comment on Tom Hanks. He's good. Although, i wish he would do another stupid comedy someday (anyone remember Bachelor Party or the Volunteers?)

Dell being put to death was one of the more disturbing things i have ever seen in a movie. Really made it satisfying wehen percy got his, though.

honestly i am so sick of all things King i couldnt stand the movie ..
it was like stand by me and hearts in atlanis in prison. everything is so sugary and it comes off as smug and all knowing to me ..
The more loyal to the book the less i like the movies ..

(its just a personal thing with me ..no offense to fans of the movie or the writer ... i'm just sick to death of the guy...

I liked The Green Mile. I think the book was better....

Great book amazing movie

Boring!

It's a strange thing, but I actually think The Green Mile appeals mostly to females, and I'm not quite sure why. Perhaps it's the emotionality it creates...

I loved this film. Wouldn't class it as "horror" though.

And I love Stephen King too - his early books, as far as I'm concerned, are the ones to remember him by. I'm prepared to forgive him for some of his later efforts because he's been so prolific in telling some great yarns over the years.

I'd agree that some of his books have become something of a joke once they hit the screen, with the possible exception of Kubrick's The Shining - and King didn't like the finished product because he thought it veered too far from his original story.
