Alone In The Dark

I just watched this last night and thought it was great. It's about some homicidal maniacs played by Martin Landau (he does the part brilliantly toungue in cheek and creepy), Jack Palance and Donald Pleasence (as a shrink - again!). Good slick production by New Line Cinema and director Jack Scholder (The Hidden). Quite suspensful with some great kill scenes including a ice hockey mask murderer (Pre F-13 as far as I know). Has anyone else seen and like this movie?

yeah i have a dub on beta .. thats how long ago i saw it.

I may be mistaken but i vaguely remember a scene where you see 2 or 3 of the escaped lunatics together and they looked like Michael Meyers, Jason, and someone else .. in a parking lot behind some cars ..

I'll have to see it again..

Alon ein the Dark came out after Friday the 13th and Halloween. Maybe '82-ish? It may have pre-dated Jason wearing a hockey mask since Ft13 pt 3 was the first in which he wore it.....don't know the year, but part 3 was around 82-83.

Yeh it's kinda dissapeared from a lot of the rental stores. I'm staying at my parents for a couple of weeks over xmas and the store here has a bunch of old school gems.

This is a seriously weird movie. I couldn't take it seriously and instead decided to view it as a very black comedy. Maybe it was intended that way, I don't know. It wasn't bad, it was just very strange.

Yeh it is a very strange movie and it does have elements of very black humour. I never take movies seriously..... I avoid films like that totally. Trash all the way!
