The horror of... basketball?

So who saw that Pacers/Pistons brawl last night?

Holy shit, that had to be about the craziest fight I've seen between athletes and fans on live tv in some time...

Lots of punches (and full beer and chairs and other debris) thrown and landed.

If you havent seen it yet, turn on ESPN, they'll probably be talking abou it for the next two weeks.

We folk in America really have our priorities in order dont we? We pay these morons millions of dollars to play a stupid game, they cant put a sentence together or figure out a simple math equation and put them up as societies role models.

Meanwhile we pay our teachers, doctors, and military jack shit and dont give them half the recognition that they deserve.

If I had it my way, any player that was involved in this brawl would be banned from the sport for life.

This kind of shit goes on and we cant put Pete Rose in the hall of fame because he gambled?

Professional sports stopped getting my money years ago and it doesnt seem like its coming back anytime soon.

It's been on local news, the Today show, etc. Pretty amazing. I can understand the player getting mad about having beer thrown in his face, but the fan that went on the court and got decked deserved it IMO. He had no place going on the court unless he was there to fight. It always amazes me how violent people get when it comes to sports!

Well put.

About that fan on the court... Yeah he deserved to get dropped... twice. (Like he did.) Fans have no place on the court just as players have no place in the stands.

being from indian all i can say is we kicked there ass

bwind22 11-20-2004 09:59 AM

I'd have to agree with that. Every person shown just getting jacked in the face was a Piston fan.

Artest should be kicked out of the league permanently for something like that though... Attacking a fan should carry the severest of penalties.

I could not believe what was going down! And the brawls just kept escalating all over the place. Also, how the FUCK can a raggity-ass regular Joe fan, just simply have acces to "walk" out on the court? I was glad that Artest and O'Neal clocked those bums!

What was ironic is that Artest was actually doing a really good job of restraining himself with Wallace pushing him, then throwing a towel in his face. Artest was just laying there when that dumb ass fan threw his beer at him. At any rate...I am not condoning what Artest did...however, I can't blame him.

I'm from the Philly area, and our fans take a lot of heat from national media for being raucus fans. FUCK THAT!!!!!

We have way more class than those fucking Pistons fans in attendence last night!

Damn, Artest laid that one guy out......I just watched it on espn.com.......Almost thought it was a Hockey game.....It's funny to think some drunk, fat, short guy thinks he's gonna be able to take on a streamlined, inshape athlete.......The integrity of sports has gone severely downhill......

~And In this corner~

LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUMMMMMBBBLLLLEEEEEEEEEE!

You make a lot of good points MTC. I agree with most of what you say (underpaid teachers, , etc. Pete Rose). However, I can't say I agree with your statement about how the players involved in the brawl should be banned for life. Fined, suspended...yes.

But consider this:

Let's say you are at your job. For argument's sake, we'll say you work in an office setting. So, one day you are sitting at your desk...in the meantime, your company is giving a group of outsiders a tour of your company. In an inexplicable act, one of the guests throws his coffe at you. Are you just gonna sit there?
Maybe, maybe not. But, I would definitely see how you may want to go after that person and jack them up.
